It’s Income Tax time and so by necessity this will be a very short post.

Formerly of the Milwaukee, Wisconsin based band F/I Richard Franecki formed the group Vocokesh when F/I decided to pursue a more song – oriented direction.

Influenced by the industrial sounds of Throbbing Gristle and the space rock of Hawkwind and Pink Floyd the sound of the loosely structured Vocokesh might be categorized as where the music of “psychedelic era” Grateful Dead and Pink Floyd intersect.

Improvised over the space of several months the 8 songs that comprise Smile! And Point at the Mountain? are untitled because the group thought the cd was one long composition; but they also liked the idea of listening to it in random order. The cd is 50% live and 50% overdub; except for the third track, which was recorded completely live, without overdubs or studio gimmicks.
