All for a Good Cause

Whether it’s been raising money for refugees of a 1970  cyclone in Bangladesh (Concert for Bangladesh), aid for Ethiopian famine victims, Live Aid, and money for American family farmers in danger of losing their farms, Farm Aid or for just about any other cause, big or small, that you can think of, musicians have generously donated their time and talent to raise both money and public awareness.

Hoping to focus the public’s attention attention to the

guerrilla conflict or civil war centered on the Darfur region of Sudan

and hopefully

to harness the power of Lennon’s music to inspire a new generation of activists to stand up for human rights.

Yoko Ono donated the rights and music publishing royalties of John Lennon’s music to Amnesty International. In turn Amnesty used the songs to create the Make Some Noise project, which eventually resulted in the 2007’s of Instant Karma – The Campaign To Save Darfur.
